Tractor Trailer Crash in New London
NH State police are rerouting traffic on I-89 southbound in New London due to a Tractor Trailer crash. The crash shortly after 4 am this morning when an Associated Grocers Truck driven by Norman Doyon 49 of Pembroke NH rolled over into the center median near exit 12-A.Doyon was taken to New London Hospital for minor injuries and released
The high-speed lane is closed and traffic is currently being detoured off exit 12A. Heavy-duty tow trucks are on scene currently trying to remove the vehicle from the median.
Initial investigation revealed the driver was driving too fast for the existing condition and believed to have lost control of the vehicle on the slippery roadway as a result of his speed. Investigation continues with possible charges pending.
Springfield VT Votes
Springfield VT’s Incumbent Selectman David Yesman lost his seat to Walter Marten 329 – 806 in yesterday’s election. Yesman was against Warrant Article 8 that asked for $100,000 in a special dedicated fund for the demolition of dilapidated buildings in town, which the town voted in 773- 570. Incumbent Selectman Peter MacGillvray retained his seat receiving 768 votes. Carol Cole who also ran for Selectboard received 636 votes. Town Clerk Barbara Courchesene says the voter turnout was light. The school board race was uncontested and both the town and school budgets passed.
Windsor VT Voting Results
Windsor VT also voted in their town budget 331- 166 and school budget 312-192. Heather Prebish won the contested Selectboard seat over Thomas Dunn 334-159. Windsor also reported a light voter turnout with over 500 ballots cast.

Westminster Man Held Without Bail for Stabbing Death
Lonnie D. Place, 38 of Westminster VT pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Monday in Windham Criminal Court. Place is charged with felony manslaughter for the stabbing death of Michael Johnson 37 early Sunday morning at a mobile home in Shady Pines Mobile Home Park in Westminster Place continues to be held without bail at the Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield, Vt., following his arraignment. Place faces up to life in prison if found guilty of manslaughter in connection with Johnson’s death.
