Boat Launch in Sunapee Closed For Pipe Work
Work installing a new water intake pipe for Sunapeeās water department starts today. The contractor will be using the boat launch and parking area. The work is expected to go on about two weeks and both the boat launch and parking area in the harbor will be closed until the work is completed.
Food Drive for Veteran’s
Lebanon Fire Department and Project Vet Care are collecting non perishable goods for Upper Valley homeless Vets and Vets in need of assistance. The food drive starts on Tuesday (Veterans Day) and there are collection boxes at both fire stations in Lebanon. Corinth Woman Charged with Disorderly Conduct
A Corinth VT woman was charged with disorderly conduct on Saturday night, after being questioned about illegal drug use. Police say Elizabeth Magoon 25, was questioned by Thetford Police after they were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle outside a Rt. 113 residence in Thetford. After an investigation, police suspected criminal activity including possible burglary and drug possession. Police report that Magoon became irate during questioning and tried to flee police and cursed at them. Police found a small amount of marijuana on Magoon and issued a civil marijuana ticket and a citation to appear in Orange Court for disorderly conduct on Dec. 15.
Hartland VT Man Arrested
A 42-year-old Hartland VT man wanted in Vermont and New Hampshire was arrested Friday night in Springfield. Police say Eric Danielson was arrested on an outstanding warrant in Vermont. When he was fingerprinted, police discovered Danielson was wanted on a charge of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon in New Hampshire. Danielson is due to appear on November 10, 2014 in the Criminal Division of the District Court in White River Junction to answer to the charge of being a fugitive from justice.
Zoning Director Named in Lebanon
Lebanon City Manager Greg Lewis announced on Friday the appointment of David R. Brooks to Planning & Zoning Director for Lebanon, effective November 23, 2014.
Brooks has been a member of the City of Lebanon Planning Staff since June 2005..For over nine years he has worked closely with the Planning Board; guiding them through the process of development review, and drafting revised regulations that ensure consistency of application and conformance with State law.
Man Falls Off Roof and Gets Arrested
A Springfield VT man who fell off a roof ended up being arrested for Unlawful Trespass, Unlawful Mischief, and Possession of cocaine. Springfield police say, officers went to a residence on Mineral Street after they recieved a call of a man being high on something and falling off a roof. When police arrived Jereme T. Schoff 27, barged into a neighboring home and asked to be hidden but fled when confronted by the homeowner. Schoff then fled to a business on Clinton Street where officers located him lying on the ground covered with leaves. Schoff was taken into custody for Unlawful Trespass and an outstanding arrest warrant. Schoff was also issued citation for the alleged crimes of Unlawful Trespass (Felony), Unlawful Mischief (Misdemeanor) and Possession of suspected Cocaine.
